This past year, Altieri joined the Bridgeport chapter of the ACE Mentorship Program in a mentor role. The mission of the program is “to engage, excite, and enlighten high school students to pursue careers in architecture, engineering, and construction through mentoring and continued support for their advancement into the industry.”
Throughout the year, employees helped students as they worked toward a year-end design project of a barbecue pit to be added next to the Wakeman Boys and Girls Club of Bridgeport. They had the opportunity to introduce various MEPF design options and processes to the students and open their minds to what career options a building design professional can have. The groups’ final presentations exemplified their unique visions of how to best incorporate sustainability and a sense of community into their design practices. Our team is excited to continue and expand our involvement in the ACE Mentorship Program again this fall.
Being a part of this program was a great opportunity to share our knowledge of a career in the building design field and to witness the resourcefulness and creativity of the next generation of design professionals.
