Cornerstone Home & Gardens Inc., located in Ridgefield, CT, is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization that runs an educational gardening experience for the community. Cornerstone provides an opportunity for Neurodivergent individuals to experience real-life work in the areas of gardening, farming, building, grounds maintenance, and landscape design.
Altieri Principal, Kari Nystrom, proposed the idea of building a farmstand for Cornerstone Home & Gardens to the Women in Engineering group this summer. We were all ready for the challenge and included the entire firm to volunteer their time to help as well. Altieri employees did it all – created the design, gathered materials, built and painted the stand, and delivered it to the farm.
This was a fun and rewarding volunteer project for the firm. The final product came out great. Cornerstone Founding Director, CeCe Berger, was thrilled to see the completed farmstand when it was delivered! The staff who delivered the stand toured the Cornerstone grounds and saw first-hand the terrific work being done.
